“Thank you so much. It is truly an honor to be recognized as an honoree for such a critical and important organization. As I stand here today, I am filled with gratitude, not just for this recognition, but for the incredible work that all of you ‒ both the organizations and the individuals here ‒ are doing to uplift our community.
It is a privilege to share this moment with other long-standing community champions such as Bank of America and The Silverstein Family. Both organizations have made an indelible mark on New York City, and it is humbling to stand shoulder to shoulder with them as we all work towards a brighter future for this city and its residents.
For those of you who may not know me, I joined Arrow Security last year as the Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Arrow, I had the privilege of working in corporate security at BlackRock and Deutsche Bank for over 12 years. When I made the decision to join Arrow, it wasn’t just because of the opportunity to work with our visionary CEO, AJ Caro. What truly drew me in, and what has kept me here, excited and engaged every single day is the firm’s unwavering commitment to people.
Arrow Security is a physical guarding company, and while technology certainly has its place, we pride ourselves on valuing the human capital that forms the backbone of our organization. From the over 6,000 men and women who serve as our security guards, to our dedicated corporate staff, each individual plays a vital role in what we do each and every day. Their hard work, dedication, and resilience are what make our company truly great.
As someone who works with such committed individuals every day, I can tell you this: people make the difference! And this is why I am so proud of our strong partnership with Women in Need. The mission of WIN and the incredible impact they have on the lives of women and children in New York City is something I deeply admire and feel passionately about.
Arrow has had the privilege of partnering with WIN for several years now. Since I started, I have gotten to know the leadership here, starting with President & CEO Christine Quinn. From Christine’s leadership to the dedication of staff & the individual volunteers who make WIN’s mission a reality, it’s clear to me that WIN embodies what is truly great about New York City. Their work is a testament to the power of community, compassion, and commitment to a common cause.
WIN is the largest provider of family shelter and supportive housing in New York City. Last year alone, they helped place over 950 families in permanent homes, offering not just a roof over their heads, but a sense of security and stability. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. WIN serves thousands of women and children every year, providing them with a safe place to stay, the resources they need to rebuild their lives, and the essential services that help them combat the systemic inequalities they face.
For many of these women, WIN is more than just a shelter ‒ it is a lifeline. It is a place where they are given a fighting chance to overcome the struggles they face, to find hope after hardship, and to start anew. It is more than just providing shelter; it’s about providing dignity, respect, and opportunity. WIN’s efforts are a vital part of ensuring that no woman or child is left behind in this city.
I stand before you today, humbled and incredibly proud to be recognized for my involvement in this mission. But it is important to note that while this recognition is deeply meaningful to me, it is really about the collective effort of each and every one of you who contributes to WIN’s work.
As we look to the future, I am more aware than ever of the pressing need for organizations like WIN. In a city as vibrant and diverse as New York, it is crucial that we continue to invest in those who need us most ‒ our women, our children, and our families who face hardship. Now, more than ever, we need places like Women in Need to provide critical support when all other options are closed off.
So, to Christine, the members of the esteemed executive team at WIN, and each of you here tonight ‒ thank you. Thank you for giving me the privilege of standing before you and celebrating the incredible work that this organization continues to do.
Together, we are making a difference. Together, we are giving New York’s women and children a fighting chance.
Thank you again for this honor and thank you all for being here tonight to support this vital cause.
Let’s continue the fight, and let’s make sure that every woman and child who walks through the doors of WIN finds the support and opportunity they deserve. Thank you!
