The Arrow 11, February 2025: With Reginal “Reggie” Wesch

Welcome to “The Arrow 11” – our monthly feature where we highlight our best and brightest through 11 thought-provoking questions.
This month, we discuss overcoming adversity, perseverance, and Teddy Roosevelt with Reggie Wesch, Director of Human Resources here at Arrow.
1). How did you come to work in security?
In September 2023, I was looking for my next opportunity when an executive recruiter put me in touch with my manager, Kristen Hildebrant. I interviewed with her and Brendon McDonald, our CFO, and I felt an immediate connection and they presented me with an amazing opportunity at a great company led by our CEO AJ Caro.
2). What is your favorite activity or hobby?
I enjoy lifting weights and working out. It’s the first thing I do most mornings, and it prepares me for the challenges of the day. I believe that your health is your wealth.
3). What is your favorite quote, motto, or mantra?
“People don’t care how much you know unless they know how much you care” – Theodore Roosevelt
4). What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
My dad always told me there are “no short cuts in life”. Success is the result of hard work, persistence, and having the courage to keep going despite the challenges that come your way.
5). What person do you believe has had the greatest influence on your life, and why?
My wife. She has been a part of my life for over 20 years. Through all the ups and downs she remained a loyal friend and without her unwavering support it would not all come together.
6). Is there a personal/professional challenge you’ve overcome, and what did you learn from it?
For the first time in my 20+ career I experienced a layoff in 2023. I played a ton of golf, took the time to reset, and it turned out to be a blessing. I am so thankful to my network of friends and business partners who helped me bounce back quickly.
7). What does success mean to you, both personally and professionally?
I strive to have a life that isn’t constant “busy-ness” and rushing, but meditation and creation, connecting with people I love, and making time to enjoy nature and activity.
8). What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
When I was in high school, I was voted “Nicest Smile.” A warm smile is the universal language of kindness. No matter where you go in the world, a kind and open smile paves the way for making new friends and brightening everyone’s day.
9). What was your favorite travel/vacation destination, or what place is top of your list to travel next?
My wife and I took a trip to Italy, and we did 9-day trip to Rome, Venice, and Florence. For my next trip. I would love visit Japan.
10). What is your favorite book or author, and why?
My favorite book is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. In it, Stephen Covey explores the principles of effective self-leadership, influence, collaboration, and improvement.
